1. great things come in small packages
- Trinity H. Uyquiengco was born on February 2, 2008. A very cute, poopy and noisy baby at first. But now she's the joy in our lives. She makes us laugh by just tilting her head to the side. She makes us go "Aaaawwwww" when she speaks. She makes us proud when she took her first step.
2. love surprises even the most cynic of us
- March 5, 2008 will always and forever be the most amazing date for me. I wouldn't have thought that I would find the "one" in Bubba Gump of all places...but I did. I have never been this happy and in love. Everyday I thank God for him. Everyday I picture my future with him. And Everyday, I fall even more in love with him.
3. love doesn't always mean you'll be happy everyday but it may surprise you
- In contrast to what I just typed above...there were times that I got hurt. But in those times, I just pray. Pray that we will get pass the fight and hurting. I believe that these were tests. We were tested on how much we could endure. We were taught how to fight for each other and not with each other. We learned to protect each other. Surprises are big, soft and fluffy...haha.
4. love comes to those who wait...even if you have to kiss a lot of frogs along the way
- it is not my story to tell. but at least now she listened. love hurts, yes...but it doesn't mean you have to let it. it is what it is.
5. true friends stay or comes home
- my best friend came back. eventhough she didn't stay, I had the most amazing time with her. It felt like we were never apart. I love her so much. And I miss her. She's an amazing person and a true friend. but then there are some who just drifted away. I hope he's happy and doing well.
6. not everyone is your friend
- an issue about me surfaced in my work place. an issue that is so absurd and untrue. just thinking about it makes me so angry. they've said some things about me and when i do find out who said it, no more miss nice girl. I find myself un-merciful about this.
7. there are really no good shows anymore
- at least here in the philippines. but this is just my opinion.
8. you have to take good care of yourself
- i've been sick more this year (2008) than last year (2007). But I am blessed to have my family and Erick taking care.
I guess that's it. here's to the new year and the hope for a better, brighter future.
Yup, I'm talking about Catherine Hardwicke (for people not in the "know" - she directed Twilight) Summit entertainment wants to release NEW MOON by 2009 or early 2010. Also they want to shoot NEW MOON back to back with ECLIPSE. (Kinda like Harry Potter) Apparently she needs more time to prep to bring her vision of NEW MOON to the big screen and Summit can't give her that...I mean, if you have a cash cow in your hands, wouldn't you milk it every chance you get?
I hope they really get Cuaron. I wonder what will happen if Guy Ritchie directs it (segueway to RockNRolla...will watch it later - review to follow)
So cheer up...hopefully someone will breathe new life to New Moon - no pun intended.

i woke up around 10am yesterday...haven't slept since then. it's now 4:46am today. Trying so hard not to sleep...why? because i'm bored. because i've gotten use to not sleeping at all.
please cure me.
anyway, this is not a review about the movie. it was good. as erick and i get comfortable in our seats, i had a very strong suspicion that the only reason why the movie house was full was because of Robert Pattinson (he plays edward cullen...duh!) I told erick to brace himself for shrieks...Lo and Behold, as Edward appears on screen, teens and not so teens shrieked and screamed as if the actor was there in person.
Now I would understand if he was there in person. But these people just ruined a crucial part of the movie (when the cullens are introduced...when edward was introduced) with all the screaming, we couldn't hear what was being said. Not all people in that movie house have read the book. So when these girls screamed, a person behind us told them to shut up and that they can't hear what is being said. And what did those girls do? Well, they just rolled their eyes and ate their popcorn...how rude right?
So my message is this...I know the guy is cute but COMMON COURTESY PEOPLE!!! We paid good money to watch the movie and we deserve to watch it without PEOPLE LIKE YOU ROBERT PATTINSON FANATICS screaming everytime he's on screen. HE'S NOT GOING TO HEAR YOU!!!!!
There should be a new rule: No Cellphones, No Narrating, NO SCREAMING FOR THE CUTE GUY when in you're in the theater.
two movies you just have to watch...i'm not kidding!

I swear, it might seem that these movies are boring but they're not. Especially August Rush. If you don't believe me, check out the videos that i've uploaded in my multiply page.
now go! spread the love!
i miss you and i'll talk to you soon.
but here's the thing. i know that my life is not as balanced as it seems. but that's ok for me. because as far as i'm concerned...for now i am content.
chillaxing my way to the top. i'll rest when i'm dead.
i'm pretty much into my third round of starbucks coffee since i left work...driving (or blazing) through C5 was something i thought i'll never do with the new car. o well...anyway...as i mooched off my cousin's mac i realized that most people in here are getting ready for the emo convention (aka MCR concert). lots of black...white...red...gray..over waxed hair with the flip thing...guyliner...looking like the dead make up...fake blood...black skinny jeans and chucks. i feel soooo under dressed. most of them are still in high school - i think.
hay naku...this is all worth it...i get to see papa mikey again - HOT!!! love em emo guys. hehe.
this will be so corny and i hope you won't hold this against me...See you at the black parade! wahahaha!
ps...i didn't know angelina was pregnant!! ooohhh...another cute baby.

Dig the grave and let me lie,
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.
This be the verse you grave for me:
Here he lies where he longed to be,
Home is the sailor, home from sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.

satan called, he told me to bring a jacket.
that weird feeling in the pit of your stomach when you see him,
that overwhelming happiness when you talk to him,
that secret smile when you think of him...
how do you know if it's real? how do you know if you're not just clinging to the hype? and how do you erase the fear?
i want everything i guess that's my flaw. but jumping into a pool with no water is suicide and let's face it...been there...done that.
but if it's real...then let it just come naturally...no rush...no hidden agenda...nothing that will break our hearts. i want to enjoy this chapter of my life. i want to look back at it and not wish that life has a delete button.
realizing all of this is a huge thing for me. i'm not exactly the poster girl for having a perfect relationship. nor am i the poster girl for choosing the right guy (just ask my best friend). i cried once and that's enough.
so how do you know?

my brother is a doctor. he went to up manila for his pre-med and ust for his med school. he was an intern in cardinal santos and he moonlighted for small government hospitals. he is also a volunteer for gawad care. not to mention that his mentors are reknowned doctors one of them is dr. joe yamamoto. in 2005, he went to the US to take the USMLE (that's the united states medical licensing examinations) and yes he passed. But the thing is, he never really wanted to practice in america. he just wanted to take his residency there and then go back and practice here. yes, he is very patriotic. this is what he told my parents, "mas kailangan ako dito."
that is the truth, isn't it? ask any med students or nursing students where they want to work and they'd tell you that they want to work abroad. we are a third world country. not all of us could afford treatment in st. luke's or cardinal santos. not all of us could afford getting treatment period! most of our countrymen don't even have insurance. we need more doctors to stay. more nurses to stay. and for crying out loud...DOCTORS SHOULD STOP GOING TO NURSING SCHOOL SO THAT THEY COULD GO TO THE US...parang cheating na rin yon. think about it. doctor ka na nga, mag nu-nursing ka pa para lang maka trabaho sa us. hello!? WE NEED YOU HERE. IF YOU WANT YOU'RE COUNTRY MEN TO BE PROUD OF YOU...IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO BE PROUD OF YOU...GET THE COURAGE TO TOUGH IT OUT HERE. DO GOOD HERE.
i know, i know...it's a bit off from the whole teri hatcher/desperate housewives comment...so here's my opinion about it. pinoys should stop being so sensitive. i mean, how many times have you laughed on a joke about other asian people...jokes about the jews, african americans, native americans, italians, french...heck even people from jersey! we've got classic jokes about the rabbi, the buddhist and the catholic all the time. we even make fun of different religions. but when there's a joke about your race or religion, some people immediately get angry and make a big deal out of it. you know what...all races should lighten up a bit. yes your ancestors were slaves. but that was a long, long time ago. i suggest that people should lighten up but also, other people who makes/writes jokes about other races should be sensitive enough to think that maybe this might be a touchy subject.
don't get me wrong...i hate people who discriminates. i am not fond of racists or sexist people. we now live in a world where you have to walk on eggshells all the time. i just wish for a world where all could get along. i guess that world only exist in my dreams.

In the grand design of life, God has given us people who inspires us and makes us strive to do better in life. They are a source of inspiration. They can make you laugh out loud or piss you off. They support you in everything that you do…in every person that you like…in every decision you make even if they don’t always agree with you. They could also be brutally honest and hurt you but they do it for your own good.
Happy Birthday…Pong and Denise!
